Methodologies
Simon Youngleson Architects adheres to traditional village-making ideals, inspired by a development’s locality, rather than working to principles driven by policy.
Evolving urban design projects through our unique methodology, we start by comprehensively researching what we call 'local genetic material' from a development’s physical surroundings. This material is then embedded into a tangible report that informs and inspires the entire design and development process, ensuring every village has a distinct character and a tangible, intuitive narrative that’s sensitive to the land and existing local community. Moreover, our reports and built form vision documents enhance and expedite the community consultation and approval process, providing reassurance to stakeholders and the broader community.
