Lancelin Waterfront. Lancelin Waterfront is a proposed mixed use and residential development, located adjacent to the beach in Lancelin. Lancelin is a small Crayfishing town an hour and a half’s drive north of Perth. The beach location of this wonderful site, which once housed a Crayfishing factory, gave us the opportunity to explore the creation of a local aesthetic. It also provided us the opportunity to bring the native coastal foreshore landscape seamlessly back into the development. This was done using a series of shared walkways which link the houses with the beach. This strong landscape concept provides the aesthetic foundation for the development. By combining the landscape concepts with the unique coastal architecture, the development has a wonderful sense of place. This has benefits to the local community as it helps to further enhance the character of the area. The development gained the support of the local council.
